Listen to the audio:
When should you start blogging? The second you think about it! Don’t waste time just deliver. If you are not already taking advantage of ‘Content Marketing.’ Start now.
Now I'm not sitting here saying 'Oh, whoah is me,' 'I should have started doing this when I was 14,' I'm just saying 'Everyone should have started doing this when they were 14. And the closest you can get to 14 is the age you are RIGHT NOW. So if you can take this information, and let's call it AWARENESS. That I should have started doing what I'm doing right now sooner (and in 10 years I will probably be saying the same thing) but none the less when you LEARN that you should be DOING SOMETHING. And it is good for your business and it's good for you. You should just start doing it as soon as possible with no further hesitation. I'n my cate you know this whole blogging thing that I do - pretty frequently now, is AWESOME for me. People are finding me through you know my website because I'm putting out videos regularly. For myself as well as my clients. For me it is kind of two fold. Everything I do get's packaged and presented.
God willing I will be able to look at all of my work for the rest of my life and share it with people through the internet and the continued evolution of the internet. I hope we don't loose all the content that is out there right now. And I think that we won't. History used to be written and so much written history has been lost and the history that we still have it's mostly been embedded into the internet. This world wide digital brain of communication. So our stories that we are putting out their now are being archived and can maybe be reviewed for the rest of human existence. Right now in the present that have a great application for just boosting your SEO and getting people to find you. It is really and amazing way to have all the information that your clients might be looking for in one place, or reach out into broader audiences. Yesterday I wrote an article about basically how to defend with your own two hands. And that's cool. Terrorism is something we all have to be aware of in 2016. With night clubs, movie theatres, and even something as simple as in France, A GROCERY STORE! You go to target locations. You go to locations that radical people of all races and religions would be interested in attacking but lately these obviously have been radical Muslim terrorist attacks in the United States and in Europe. I don't think people looking for that are going to immediately say 'Oh wow I found Nick Catucci's list of, uh, You know this weird blog called THESE ARE MY CLOWN HUNTING BOOTS.' And then say 'Oh, and he's a videographer great I need that.' But I'm not trying to do it directly I'm indirectly gaining interest in my content. I'm developing a brand. And my brand is diverse.
I have a lot of information. I'm an Eagle scout. I've gone through ROTC. I've gotten American education in Television and Radio. And I've got a lot of hobbies. A lot of things that I do extracurricularly, I love to go camping, and hiking, and cooking, and building things with my hands. And painting, these are all like great stress relievers, great activities that help me use other parts of my creative brain. In doing that I generate a lot of knowledge - what people used to call 'Useless Information,' well if it can get you eight-billion views... which I don't thing anything can really logistically get eight-billion views right now because not enough people have access to internet. But with the Facebook and Google satellites they are developing to give everyone internet connection. And the technology getting cheaper, and easier to mass produce. We're looking at a world in the next 10 years there is going to be a dramatically bigger audience for the internet. Between population growth and also the simple evolution of countries and people that don't currently have access to the internet GETTING IT.
It's like in 1993 we saw Henry Ford in the birth of the internet, now we are like two decades and some change from what I would call the birth of the consumer internet. Twenty years after the invention of the Model T - NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAD CARS. Way more people have internet than had cars in this short duration afterwards and it took a very long time for other countries to catch up to the United States. But they caught up and BOY DID THEY!
And I think that is a lot of what we are seeing right here with the Unites States having the internet, improving the internet. And I think that it is awesome because we kind of had the evolution of the internet. You know these horrible websites. Very slow. And I don't think that these third world countries are ever going to get to see any of that. They're all going to have lighting fast internet the second the satellite makes it available to them. There's not going to be a modem. There's not going to be any of that crap. They are going to have a sweet little device. They are going to have an awesome viewing experience. It's going to be RADICAL. I almost wish that I could experience that. Now Don't get me wrong, I love my experience. I'm having a great experience.
Cause' it's going to be a shock. It's going to be a wow - a BANG! I mean it's probably going to leave them breathless. When some people who don't currently have access to the internet get internet for the first time. I mean the IEEE, the Electrical Engineers Union in the United States just started creating boxes that I immediately recognized. They are power boxes that go out to Africa and out in Africa people get the ability to have lights now. That they never had the opportunity to have lights before. Now these, these places in Africa they've got light. They can study longer. They can do things longer. When the sun goes down they don't have to end their day. They've got access to electricity. And it's these power boxes that come right off the shelves in Sears the ones they sell so you can jumpstart your battery, OK. Now they're orange. They don't have the jumper cables on the side of them. They've got the electrical outlet. They're sending them out there with power strips so that they can plug in multiple LED lights you know these lights use very little electricity. I think these lights can last up to a week or two before they have to take them back to the charging station. They take them back to the charging station, they get a new one. They've got another two weeks of LIGHT.
I mean how AMAZING this must be! You know to suddenly get handed light. And get it handed in almost like an alien way. Like, here! This technologies already got like over a HUNDRED years of work done to it. HAVE IT. Whereas in the United States it was like 'God these lights suck.' You gotta run power lines. You gotta do all this nonsense - THIS IS HORRIBLE. We're blocking out our sky with high tension lines and giving people radiation and cancer so that we can develop this technology. We take it from the bulb that didn't break to the bulb that breaks every five minutes. To now we've got long lasting bulbs that use almost no electricity and now it's just like 'OH, LED, better than anything you've ever seen before you go Africa, enjoy.'
While it's been a long catching up now this technology is getting so shareable and so amazing. Long story short, you are going to have a lot more viewership. And you are going to have a lot bigger audience, and the transcoding language technology is getting better and better. So you are going to appeal to broader audiences over the next couple years. So get started now. Get good at it. You want to perfect your style and your brand as soon as possible - so when these people all over the world are tuning in more and more. You have a better way of creating universally applicable material - that boosts your SEO. That changes the way you are doing whatever you do.
You have to think about it on a bigger plain. A bigger spectrum. Whatever you are and whatever you do can be made so much bigger. Huge really. It's going to get your business going maybe in whole new directions. You have to be prepared right now for expansion. Imagine you are fourteen. All you have to do is throw it out there.
Preparation is measured in ounces, OK. What you do is measured in ounces and regret is measured in tons, OK. So do it now. Do it for yourself. Get your website where you want it to be with regular posts - regular pieces of material that you are putting out there getting people interested in what you are doing. When the time comes this machine is going to be working for you, OK. Your content generating machine. The people you have with you. Your brand identity. MAKE IT HAPPEN NOW.
Make your brand, thank you. Catucci out.
Big thanks to B.K. Ferris for that intro and outdo music.
